Latifa meaning
Latifa (لطیفہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Gentle, gracious, kind; subtle, refined (feminine of laṭīf)
Latifa (لطیفہ) is the feminine of the Arabic laṭīf, from the root l-ṭ-f. Lane's lexicon defines laṭīf as gentle, gracious, courteous and kind, and also subtle, refined and perceptive of fine details; the noun luṭf means gentleness or grace. Al-Laṭīf, "the Subtle, the Gentle", is one of the names of God, as in Quran 67:14. In Urdu a laṭīfa is also a witty saying or joke, from Lane's sense of something fine and subtle. Name lists give Latifa as "gentle" or "kind", in line with the dictionary.
