Mehak meaning
Mehak (महक) is a Hindu, Muslim and Sikh girl's name of Hindi-Urdu origin.
Fragrance, perfume; a strong, spreading scent
Mehak is the everyday Hindi and Urdu word for fragrance. Platts's dictionary of Urdu and Hindi (1884) lists mahak as a fragrance that spreads, an odour or perfume, especially a strong one, and gives the verb mahaknā, 'to give off a pleasant scent, to be fragrant', along with mahak-dār, 'fragrant'. Because the word belongs to the shared vocabulary of north India rather than to any one scripture, the name is used by Hindu, Sikh and Muslim families alike, and is spelt Mehak, Mahak or Mehek. Baby-name lists give 'fragrance' or 'sweet smell', the dictionary sense.
