Badrunnisa meaning
Badrunnisa (بدرالنساء) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Full moon among women
Also used to mean: most beautiful among women
Badrunnisa (بدرالنساء) joins Arabic badr, "the full moon", and nisāʾ, "women", to mean "full moon among women", that is, the brightest and most beautiful of them. Lane's lexicon defines badr as the moon on its fourteenth night, and Platts gives nisāʾ as women, the female sex. Names ending in -un-nisa were used in Mughal India; Badr-un-Nissa Begum (1647–1670) was a daughter of Aurangzeb, remembered for her learning and for having memorised the Quran.
