Badriya meaning
Badriya (بدریہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Of or like the full moon; from badr, the full moon
Also used to mean: moonlight
Badriya (بدریہ) is formed from Arabic badr, "the full moon", with the ending -iyya, "of, belonging to". Lane's lexicon explains badr as the moon on its fourteenth night, so called, some say, because it hurries to rise before the sun has set. Badr is also the place of the first battle of Islam (Quran 3:123), and badrī was the honoured title of those who fought there. Name lists give Badriya as "like the full moon". The masculine names Badr and Badruddin are also used in India.
