Basheera meaning
Basheera (بشیرہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
One who brings good news; feminine of bashīr
Also used to mean: bringer of good news, joyful messenger
Basheera (بشیرہ) is the feminine of Arabic bashīr, from the root b-sh-r. Lane's lexicon explains bashīr as one who announces news to others, usually joyful news, and the same root gives bushrā, "glad tidings", and bishārat, "good news". In the Quran the Prophet is sent as bashīr and nadhīr, "a bearer of good news and a warner" (2:119). Basheer is a well-known boy's name in India, and Basheera is its feminine. Name lists give it as "bringer of good news".
