Khalida meaning
Khalida (خالدہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Lasting, abiding; remaining for ever (feminine of khālid)
Also used to mean: eternal, immortal
Khalida (خالدہ) is the feminine of the Arabic khālid, from the root kh-l-d. Lane's lexicon explains the verb khalada as remaining or abiding in a place, and especially continuing without end, and gives al-khuld, "lasting existence", as a name for Paradise. The Quran uses the plural khālidūn again and again for those who will dwell in Paradise for ever, as in 2:25. Name lists give Khalida as "eternal" or "immortal", in line with the dictionary. In Bengal the name is usually spelled Khaleda, as with Khaleda Zia, Bangladesh's first woman prime minister.
