Maisha meaning
Maisha (معیشہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Living, life; livelihood, the means by which one lives
Maisha (معیشہ) comes from the Arabic maʿīsha, from the root ʿ-y-sh, "to live", the root that also gives ʿAisha, "living". Lane's lexicon gives maʿīsha as the noun of ʿāsha, "he lived", and as one's living or sustenance, that by which life is kept going. The Quran uses it for the livelihood God provides (43:32). Name lists give Maisha as "life" or "living", close to the dictionary sense. In Swahili, which borrowed many Arabic words, maisha simply means "life". The name is used by Muslim families in India and Bangladesh.
