Amani meaning
Amani (امانی) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Wishes, desires (plural of umniyya)
Also used to mean: aspirations, hopes
Amani (امانی) is Arabic amānī, the plural of umniyya, from the root m-n-y. Lane's lexicon defines umniyya as something wished for or desired, originally a thing a person turns over in the mind. The plural appears in the Quran (2:111), where it refers to people's wishful claims, so in scripture the word often has the sense of idle hopes. As a name, Amani is taken in the warmer sense of "wishes" and "aspirations", which is how name lists give it. The East African name Amani, "peace", is a separate Swahili word.
