Nida meaning
Nida (ندا) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
A call; the raising of the voice
Nida (ندا) is Arabic nidāʾ, the verbal noun of nādā, "to call out". Lane's Lexicon explains it as raising the voice in calling, and notes that grammarians use the word for the vocative, the form of speech used to address or call someone. In the Quran, 19:3 describes Zechariah calling on his Lord with a quiet, private call, nidāʾan khafiyyā. Name lists give the same meaning, "call" or "voice". In Urdu the final hamza is usually dropped, so the name is written ندا, and other spellings include Nidaa and Neda. The name is used by Muslim families in Pakistan and India.
