Hadiya meaning
Hadiya (ہادیہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
A woman who guides (feminine of hādī, 'guide')
Also used to mean: gift
Hadiya (ہادیہ) is the feminine of Arabic hādī, "one who guides", from the root h-d-y. Lane's lexicon explains the verb hadā as directing someone to the way or guiding them aright, and al-Hādī, "the Guide", is among the names of God. Name lists give Hadiya as "guide", and some also give "gift". That second sense belongs to a related word, hadiyya, a present given as a mark of courtesy or honour, which Lane lists on the same page. In English spelling the two often merge.
