Arfa meaning
Arfa (ارفع) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Higher, more elevated; highest, most exalted
Also used to mean: high in rank
Arfa (ارفع) is Arabic arfaʿ, from the root r-f-ʿ, "to raise". Lane's lexicon gives it as "higher" or "more elevated" and also "highest", the comparative of rafīʿ, which means high or eminent in rank, noble and honourable. The Quran calls God rafīʿ al-darajāt, "exalted in degrees" (40:15). Name lists give Arfa as "exalted" or "high in rank", which follows the dictionary. A well-known bearer was the Pakistani computer prodigy Arfa Karim, who became a Microsoft-certified professional as a child.
