Jaleela meaning
Jaleela (جلیلہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Great, exalted in rank or dignity (feminine of jalīl)
Also used to mean: noble, majestic
Jaleela (جلیلہ) is the feminine of Arabic jalīl, from the root j-l-l, which also gives jalāl, "majesty", as in the divine title Dhu-l-Jalāl. Lane's lexicon explains that jalīl first meant large or bulky and then came to mean great, especially great in rank, estimation or dignity, and gives the feminine jalīla. Name lists give Jaleela as "exalted", "noble" or "majestic", in line with the dictionary. It is a different name from Jameela, "beautiful", though the two are often paired. The name is used by Muslim families in India and the Arab world.
