Ulfat meaning
Ulfat (الفت) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Familiarity, friendship, fellowship; union and harmony; (in Urdu) love, affection
Ulfat (الفت) is the Urdu form of Arabic ulfa, from alifa, "to be familiar with, to grow attached to". Lane's lexicon defines ulfa as a state of keeping close to someone, of union and agreement, and also as familiarity, companionship, friendship and amity. In Urdu, ulfat has become one of the gentle words for love and affection, common in poetry. Name lists give Ulfat as "love", "affection" or "friendship", which grows naturally from the dictionary sense. The same root gives alīf, "tame, familiar", and taʾlīf, "bringing together".
