Humaira meaning
Humaira (حمیرا) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Little red one; used of fair skin; a name for ʿĀʾisha
Also used to mean: rosy, reddish, fair-complexioned
Humaira (حمیرا) is Arabic ḥumayrāʾ, a diminutive of ḥamrāʾ, the feminine of aḥmar, "red". Lane's lexicon explains that when the Arabs called a person aḥmar they meant fair or white in complexion, and records that the diminutive ḥumayrāʾ, "little fair one", occurs in a tradition as a name for ʿĀʾisha, the wife of the Prophet. Name lists give Humaira as "rosy" or "reddish", and most families choose it for that affectionate link with ʿĀʾisha. The spelling Humera is also used in India.
