Amira meaning
Amira (امیرہ) is a Muslim and international girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Feminine of amīr: a commander, ruler, prince; hence princess
Also used to mean: leader
Amira (امیرہ), also spelled Ameera, is the feminine of Arabic amīr, from the root ʾ-m-r, "to command". Lane's lexicon defines amīr as one who has command: a commander, governor, lord, prince or king. It is the word behind emir and the Mughal title amīr, a nobleman. Name lists give Amira as "princess" or "leader", which follows directly. It should not be confused with Aamira, which begins with the letter ʿayn and means "flourishing", or with the modern name Amaira.
