Maleeha meaning
Maleeha (ملیحہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Goodly, beautiful, pretty; pleasing to the eye or ear
Maleeha is the feminine of Arabic malīḥ, from the root m-l-ḥ. Lane's lexicon defines malīḥ as goodly, beautiful or pretty, beautiful and bright in colour, and pleasing to the eye or ear; a more intensive form, mullāḥ, means the same in a higher degree. The root is the same as milḥ, 'salt', and Lane records that milḥ itself was used figuratively for goodliness and beauty. Baby-name lists give 'beautiful' or 'pretty', the dictionary sense. The Pakistani diplomat Maleeha Lodhi, a former ambassador to the United States and the United Nations, is a well-known bearer.
