Iram meaning
Iram (ارم) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Quranic, via Persian).
The fabled gardens of Shaddād, made to rival Paradise
Also used to mean: garden of heaven
Iram (ارم) is named once in the Quran, as "Iram of the pillars" (89:7), the city of the ancient people of ʿĀd who were destroyed for their arrogance. Later stories said their king Shaddād built a garden there to rival Paradise, and Steingass' Persian dictionary defines iram as those fabled gardens. In Persian and Urdu poetry Iram became a byword for a heavenly garden, which is why name lists give the meaning as "paradise". Some scholars dislike the name because of its link with ʿĀd, but it is used in India.
