Saba meaning
Saba (صبا) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
The east wind; a gentle, pleasant breeze
Also used to mean: morning breeze
Saba (صبا) is Arabic ṣabā, the wind that blows from the place of sunrise, the east wind. Lane notes that poets praise it as a gentle, pleasant breeze, like the zephyr, and Steingass agrees; Rekhta's Urdu dictionary also gives "the east wind". Name lists today usually give "morning breeze". The dictionaries give the east wind and a gentle breeze but do not tie it to the morning, so "morning" belongs to the meaning families use today rather than to the word itself. Saba is a different word from Sabaʾ (Sheba), the kingdom named in the Quran; the two look alike in English but are spelled differently in Urdu (صبا and سبا). The Pakistani actress Saba Qamar is a well-known bearer.
