Nehal meaning
Nehal (नेहल) is a Hindu and Muslim girl's name of Persian origin, also used for boys. By its first sound, ने, it is a Vrishchik rashi name (Anuradha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A young plant, shoot or sapling (Persian nihāl)
Also used to mean: rainy, happy
Nehal (नेहल) is most often traced to Persian nihāl, pronounced nehāl in Iran, which Steingass defines as a young plant, a shoot or a sapling set out to grow. Hindi and Urdu have a closely related word, nihāl, meaning delighted, flourishing or prosperous, as in the phrase nihāl honā, "to be overjoyed". Name lists give Nehal as "young plant" and sometimes as "rainy" or "happy"; we could not find the "rainy" sense in any dictionary. The name is used by Gujarati Hindu families and also by Muslim families.
