Jannat meaning
Jannat (جنت) is a Muslim and international girl's name of Arabic origin.
A garden whose trees cover the ground; Paradise
Jannat (جنت) is the Urdu form of the Arabic janna, from the root j-n-n, "to cover or conceal". Lane defines janna as a garden or walled garden of palm-trees and other trees, and as any garden whose trees conceal the ground, which is how the root's sense of covering enters the word; its diminutive was used for a garden "as though it were a little Paradise". From this comes its great religious meaning, Paradise, the abode of reward. The Quran urges believers to hasten to forgiveness and to a garden as wide as the heavens and the earth (3:133). Name lists give Jannat as "paradise" or "heaven", matching the dictionary.
