Janani meaning
Janani (जननी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Mother; also compassion
Also used to mean: mother of all
Janani (जननी) is a Sanskrit word for a mother. It comes from janana, "giving birth, producing", and ultimately from the root jan, "to be born". Monier-Williams lists jananī as a mother, a queen-mother and compassion, as well as the names of a few plants such as a kind of jasmine. Name lists give the same meaning, sometimes widened to "mother of all". The word appears in devotional songs addressed to the goddess as the mother of the world, and the name is used in Tamil Nadu.
