Hasti meaning
Hasti (हस्ती) is a Hindu girl's name of Persian origin (Gujarati usage).
Being, existence; life; worth, merit
Hasti (हस्ती, Gujarati હસ્તી) comes from the Persian word hastī, "being" or "existence". Platts records it in Urdu and Hindi with the further senses of life, the world, and a person's worth or merit, and the Gujarati dictionary gives existence as its feminine sense. As a girls' name it is chiefly found in Gujarati families, and it is also given as a name in Iran. A Sanskrit word of the same sound, hastin, means an elephant, and Hastī was the legendary king who founded Hastinapura; that is a different word, not the source of the name.
