Srishti meaning
Srishti (सृष्टि) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Creation, production, especially the creation of the world
Srishti (सृष्टि) is Sanskrit sṛṣṭi, from the root sṛj, "to let go, to send forth, to create". Monier-Williams gives letting go or emission, then production and procreation, and above all creation, including the creation of the world, which is the sense the name carries. Smaller senses include natural disposition and liberality in giving gifts. In Hindu thought creation, sṛṣṭi, is often named together with preservation and dissolution as the three phases of the universe. Name lists give the same meaning, "creation", and Hindi speakers also use srishti for the created world as a whole. The opening sound is often said as shri, which is why the name is also spelled Shrishti.
