Sandhya meaning
Sandhya (संध्या) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Twilight, the junction of day and night; personified as a goddess
Also used to mean: evening, dusk
Sandhya (संध्या) is the Sanskrit word saṃdhyā, "holding together, junction", and in particular the junction of day and night: morning or evening twilight. Monier-Williams also gives the daily prayers said at the three junctions of the day, dawn, noon and dusk, which are still called sandhyā or sandhyāvandana, and records that Twilight is personified as a goddess, a daughter of Brahmā and a consort of Śiva. A rarer word of the same form means reflection or meditation. Name lists give Sandhya as "twilight" or "evening", which is the dictionary meaning. The name is used across India.
