Tarika meaning
Tarika (तारिका) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, ता, it is a Tula rashi name (Swati nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A star; also a meteor, or the pupil of the eye
Tarika (तारिका) is the Sanskrit tārikā, a feminine form related to tārā and tāraka, "star". Monier-Williams gives tārikā as "a star", "a meteor or falling star", and also "the pupil of the eye", since the bright centre of the eye was likened to a star. The same root gives the names Tara and Tarak. Name lists give Tarika as "star", which matches the dictionary. The name is easy to say in most Indian languages and in English.
