Shubha meaning
Shubha (शुभा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Splendid, beautiful; auspicious, fortunate; good, virtuous; (f.) light, lustre, beauty
Also used to mean: lucky
Shubha (शुभा) is the feminine of Sanskrit śubha, from the verb śubh, "to shine". Monier-Williams gives śubha first as splendid, bright, beautiful and handsome, then as pleasant, good and useful, as auspicious, fortunate and prosperous, and as righteous, virtuous and pure. As a feminine noun śubhā means light, lustre, splendour and beauty, and is also the name of a friend and companion of the goddess Umā. In everyday Hindi śubh is the word for auspicious, as in śubh muhūrt, an auspicious hour. Name lists give Shubha as "auspicious" or "lucky", which follow the dictionary. In the South and in Bengal it is often spelled Subha.
