Shubhra meaning
Shubhra (शुभ्रा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Radiant, shining, beautiful; clear, spotless; bright, white
Also used to mean: pure, fair
Shubhra (शुभ्रा) is the feminine of Sanskrit śubhra, from the verb śubh, "to shine". Monier-Williams gives it as radiant, shining, beautiful and splendid, a sense found already in the Rigveda; as clear and spotless, used of a good name; and as bright-coloured or white. The old lexicons list śubhrā as crystal and as a name of the Ganges, the white river. Name lists give Shubhra as "white", "pure" or "fair", all close to the dictionary meaning. The name is used mainly for girls in North India; in Bengal, spelled Subhra, it is also a boys' name.
