Tarla meaning
Tarla (तरला) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Gujarati usage).
Tremulous, sparkling; (as taralā) a bee
Also used to mean: honeybee, flowing, nectar
Tarla (तरला) comes from Sanskrit tarala, which Monier-Williams gives as "moving to and fro, trembling, tremulous" and "glittering", and also as "liquid"; the feminine taralā is recorded by the old lexicons as "a bee", as well as spirituous liquor and rice-gruel. Name lists give Tarla as "honeybee", "flowing" or "nectar", which mostly follows these senses, though a few say "meadow", which we could not find. The name is used mainly in Gujarati families. Tarla Dalal, the cookery writer and television host known for vegetarian Indian food, received the Padma Shri in 2007.
