Charumati meaning
Charumati (चारुमती) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, चा, it is a Meen rashi name (Revati nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A daughter of Krishna; from cāru-mat, lovely
Also used to mean: beautiful mind, beautiful
Charumati (चारुमती) is the feminine of Sanskrit cāru-mat, "lovely", from cāru, "beautiful, dear". Monier-Williams records Cārumatī as a daughter of Krishna, named in the Harivamsha, and the Bhagavata Purana counts her among Krishna's children by Rukmini. Baby-name lists often read the name as cāru + mati, "one with a beautiful mind", a fair reading of the parts though not the dictionary's. A Buddhist tradition remembers another Charumati as a daughter of the emperor Ashoka. Charumathi is the usual South Indian spelling.
