Toshani meaning
Toshani (तोषणी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, तो, it is a Vrishchik rashi name (Vishakha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A name of Durga; feminine of toshana, gratifying
Toshani (तोषणी) is the feminine form of Sanskrit toṣaṇa, "satisfying, gratifying, pleasing", from the root tuṣ, "to be content". Monier-Williams records toṣaṇī as a name of the goddess Durgā, citing the Harivaṃśa. The name therefore joins a gentle everyday meaning with a goddess's epithet: the goddess who gratifies, or brings contentment to, those who turn to her. Indian name lists give Toshani as "satisfied" or as a name of Durgā, close to the dictionary senses. Some lists also tie it to Lakṣmī, which we could not find in the dictionaries. Toshan is the related boy's name.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Durga.
