Rajni meaning
Rajni (रजनी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Night; also a name of Durga, and turmeric
Rajni (रजनी) is the Sanskrit feminine rajanī, "night", which Monier-Williams explains as "the coloured or dark one". The dictionary also records it as a name of Durgā in the Harivamsa, as a name for turmeric and the indigo plant, as a musical mode, and as the names of an Apsaras and a river. Name lists give Rajni as "night", matching the dictionary; a few also give "queen", but that belongs to a different word, rājñī (रानी in Hindi). Rajani is the fuller spelling, used in the South and West.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Durga.
