Kakoli meaning
Kakoli (काकली) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage). By its first sound, का, it is a Mithun rashi name (Mrigashira nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A low and sweet tone; a low, sweet murmur or chirping
Also used to mean: chirping of birds, birdsong
Kakoli (काकली) is the Bengali form of Sanskrit kākalī, which Monier-Williams gives as "a low and sweet tone"; poets used it for the soft notes of birds and of the cuckoo. The Samsad Bengali dictionary defines Bengali kākali as a low, sweet and indistinct murmur or chirping, the sound of birds at dawn, which is how name lists explain it. Bengali pronounces the first a as o, so the name is said "Kakoli" and is also written Kakali. The politician Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar is a well-known bearer.
