Adrita meaning
Adrita (आदृता) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
Respected, honoured, worshipped; attentive, careful
Adrita (आदृता) is the feminine of Sanskrit ādṛta, the past participle of ā-dṛ, "to heed, to respect". Monier-Williams gives two groups of senses: attentive, careful and zealous, and respected, honoured or worshipped. As a girl's name it carries the second sense, one who is held in regard. Name lists online offer looser glosses such as loved one or adored, but the dictionary sense is the clearest. The name is used mainly in Bengal, where several girls' names are Sanskrit participles ending in -itā, as in Anindita and Arpita.
