Varshini meaning
Varshini (वर्षिणी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
She who rains or showers down; from varṣin, 'raining, showering'
Also used to mean: one who brings rain
Varshini (वर्षिणी) is a feminine form of Sanskrit varṣin, from varṣa, "rain". Monier-Williams gives varṣin as raining, pouring out or showering down, and also distributing something, as in a shower of gifts. So Varshini is "she who showers" or "bringer of rain", which is how name lists explain it. The word is familiar from the Carnatic raga Amritavarshini, "the shower of nectar", traditionally linked with bringing rain. The name is used in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
