Varija meaning
Varija (वारिजा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, वा, it is a Vrishabh rashi name (Rohini nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Water-born; a lotus
Varija (वारिजा) comes from Sanskrit vārija, made of vāri, "water", and ja, "born". Monier-Williams gives the adjective as born in water and the noun as a lotus, and also as a conch shell. Like Jalaja, Neeraja and Pankaja, it is one of many Sanskrit words for the lotus built on the idea "born in water". Name lists give "lotus" and link it with Lakshmi, who is often shown seated on a lotus. The name is used in Karnataka and Maharashtra.
