Mohana meaning
Mohana (मोहना) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, मो, it is a Simha rashi name (Purva Phalguni nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Bewitching, infatuating; a kind of jasmine flower
Also used to mean: charming, attractive
Mohana (मोहना) is built on Sanskrit mohana, from the verb muh, "to bewilder". Monier-Williams gives the adjective as bewildering, infatuating or leading astray, and records the feminine mohanā as the flower of a kind of jasmine; as a masculine noun mohana is a name of Shiva and of one of the five arrows of Kāma, the god of love. Name lists today explain Mohana as "charming" or "attractive", the gentler side of the same idea. In South India the name also recalls Mohanam, a much-loved pentatonic raga.
