Sushma meaning
Sushma (सुषमा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Exquisite beauty, splendour
Also used to mean: beautiful, sparkling beauty
Sushma (सुषमा) is the usual spelling of Sanskrit suṣamā, which Monier-Williams gives as exquisite beauty or splendour, citing the Naiṣadhacarita. The related adjective suṣama means very even and also very beautiful. In Jain cosmology suṣamā names one of the ages of the turning wheel of time, a period of continuous human happiness, and the word is also a poetic metre. Name lists give "beautiful" or "sparkling beauty", which match the dictionary. Some sources connect the name instead with śuṣma, "fire, sun, vigour", but the standard Hindi spelling सुषमा points to suṣamā. The best-known bearer is Sushma Swaraj (1952–2019), India's Minister of External Affairs from 2014 to 2019.
