Susanna meaning
Susanna is a Christian girl's name of Hebrew origin (via Greek).
Lily
Susanna is the Greek form of Hebrew Shoshannah, which Strong's Concordance glosses simply as 'lily'. In Luke's Gospel Susanna is one of the women who travelled with Jesus and provided for him and the apostles out of their own means. Catholic and Orthodox Bibles also include the story of Susanna in the Book of Daniel, a faithful wife falsely accused and saved when the young Daniel cross-examined her accusers, a story often painted by European artists. In India Susanna is used in Christian families who prefer the full, older form to the short Susan.
