Jasmine meaning
Jasmine is a Christian and international girl's name of English origin (from Persian).
The jasmine flower (Persian yāsaman, via Arabic and French)
Jasmine is the English name of the fragrant flower and the English form of the name Yasmin. The word came into English from French jasmin, which took it from Arabic yāsamīn, itself borrowed from Persian. Steingass's Persian dictionary gives yāsaman and yāsam as jasmine or jessamine, with compounds such as yāsaman-bū, "scented like jasmine". In India the white jasmine, mogra in Hindi and malli in Tamil, is woven into garlands and worn in the hair, so the name carries a familiar local image as well as an international one. Name lists give Jasmine simply as the flower. In India it is used as an English given name, including in Christian families, while Muslim families also use Yasmin.
