Zahra meaning
Zahra (زہرا) is a Muslim and international girl's name of Arabic origin.
Bright, shining; also a flower, blossom
Zahra (زہرا) belongs to the Arabic root z-h-r, whose words cover shining and blossoming. As Zahrāʾ, the feminine of azhar, Lane glosses it of a woman as fair and bright-faced. The closely related zahra means a flower or blossom, and also beauty and splendour; it occurs in Quran 20:131, where the passing splendour of worldly life is set against God's provision. Name lists today give "radiant", "bright" or "flower", all from this root. Al-Zahrāʾ, "the radiant one", is a title of Fāṭima, daughter of the Prophet Muhammad, who is venerated especially by Shia Muslims, and the name is given in her honour. Turkish Zehra is the same name.
