Nasreen (نسرین) is a Muslim girl's name of Persian origin (Urdu usage).
A wild rose
Nasreen (نسرین) is the Persian nasrīn, a wild rose. Steingass's dictionary gives that sense first and adds that it was also the name of an island where amber was found. The flower appears often in Persian and Urdu poetry. Name lists agree on "wild rose"; a few give "white narcissus", which is not what the dictionary says. Nasreen is a name used by Muslim families in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, and the Iranian spelling is Nasrin.
