Naheed meaning
Naheed (ناہید) is a Muslim girl's name of Persian origin (Urdu usage).
The planet Venus; also a girl in early bloom; a flourishing garden
Also used to mean: morning star, pure
Naheed (ناہید) is the Persian name for the planet Venus, the bright morning and evening star. Steingass's dictionary also gives it as a young girl in early bloom and a cultivated, flourishing garden, and notes that Persian legend gives it as the name of Alexander's mother. The word goes back to the old Iranian goddess Anahita, whose name meant "immaculate", which is why some name lists add "pure". In Urdu the planet is more often called zuhra, but Naheed is used as a girls' name in Iran, Pakistan and India. The Urdu poet Kishwar Naheed carries it.
