Chameli meaning
Chameli (चमेली) is a Hindu girl's name of Hindi origin (from Sanskrit).
Jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum)
Chameli (चमेली) is the Hindi name of the Spanish or royal jasmine, Jasminum grandiflorum, whose white, star-shaped flowers are prized for their scent. Platts' Hindi dictionary records camelī, also written cambelī, as "the jasmine" and traces it to Sanskrit. Jasmine oil, chameli ka tel, has long been used for the hair. Baby-name lists give the name simply as "jasmine", which matches. It is an older, homely name in North India and one of several Indian names taken from jasmine, along with Bela.
