Juhi meaning
Juhi (जूही) is a Hindu girl's name of Hindi origin (from Sanskrit yūthikā).
A jasmine, Jasminum auriculatum
Juhi (जूही) is the Hindi name of a jasmine, Jasminum auriculatum. Platts's Hindi and Urdu dictionary records jūhī for this plant and traces it to Sanskrit yūthī, and Monier-Williams gives the fuller form yūthikā for the same jasmine, citing Kālidāsa and the Bhāgavata Purāṇa. Platts also notes a playful second sense: a firework that looks like the jasmine flower. Name lists give "jasmine", which matches. The best-known bearer is the actor Juhi Chawla, Femina Miss India in 1984, whose film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) made her one of the leading Hindi film stars of the following decade.
