Mallika meaning
Mallika (मल्लिका) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Arabian jasmine, the plant and its flower
Also used to mean: queen
Mallika (मल्लिका) is the Sanskrit mallikā, the Arabian jasmine, Jasminum sambac, whose small, intensely fragrant white flowers are strung into garlands and worn in the hair across India. Monier-Williams records the word for both the plant and the flower in the Mahabharata, Ramayana and Harivamsha, and also for a lamp-stand and a kind of earthen vessel. Name lists give jasmine, matching the dictionary; the extra sense "queen" seen on some lists belongs to the Arabic and Urdu word malika, which is a different word. The dancer Mallika Sarabhai is a well-known bearer.
