Suparna meaning
Suparna (सुपर्णा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Having beautiful wings or leaves; a lotus pool; Garuḍa's mother
Also used to mean: leafy
Suparna (सुपर्णा) is the feminine of Sanskrit suparṇa, from su, "beautiful", and parṇa, "leaf, feather". Monier-Williams glosses suparṇa as having beautiful wings, as in the Rigveda, or beautiful leaves, and as a noun a large bird of prey or the mythical bird often identified with Garuḍa, Viṣṇu's mount. The feminine suparṇā is a lotus plant or a pool full of lotuses, the mother of Garuḍa, and a river. Name lists usually give "beautiful wings" or "leafy", both dictionary senses. In Bengal, where it is written সুপর্ণা and often spelled Suporna, the name is used for girls.
