Pushpa meaning
Pushpa (पुष्पा) is a Hindu and Jain girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
A flower, blossom
Pushpa (पुष्पा) is built on Sanskrit puṣpa, which Monier-Williams gives simply as a flower or blossom. Flowers are central to Hindu and Jain worship, offered in pūjā as puṣpāñjali, "an offering of flowers in cupped hands", and the word forms many names, such as Pushpendra, Pushpak and Pushpanjali. Among Jains, Puṣpadanta is the ninth Tirthankara. Pushpa is a girls' name used across India by Hindu and Jain families. It is also the name of Pushpa Raj, the hero of the Telugu films Pushpa: The Rise and Pushpa 2.
