Parvani meaning
Parvani (पर्वणी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
The period of a change of the moon
Also used to mean: full moon, festival
Parvani (पर्वणी) is a Sanskrit word built on parvan, which literally means a knot or joint. Monier-Williams explains that parvan also names the days when the moon changes, the full moon, the new moon and the eighth and fourteenth days of each half-month, and that it means a festival. Parvaṇī itself is given as "the period of a change of the moon", along with two technical senses, a pot-herb and an eye disease. Name lists today give Parvani as "full moon" or "festival", and both fit the word's calendar sense well.
