Malaika meaning
Malaika (ملائکہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Angels (plural of malak)
Malaika (ملائکہ) is the Arabic malāʾika, "angels", the plural of malak. Lane's lexicon explains that malak is held to come from maʾlak and aluk, "a message", so that angels are, at root, God's messengers. The word appears throughout the Quran, from the angels' conversation with God about Adam (2:30) onward. Swahili borrowed it from Arabic, and malaika also means "angel" there. Name lists give Malaika as "angel" or "angels", in line with the dictionary. Malaika is used in India and Pakistan.
