Mrunali meaning
Mrunali (मृणाली) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Marathi usage).
Lotus fibre; the edible fibrous root of the lotus
Mrunali (मृणाली) is the feminine of mṛṇāla, the lotus stalk. Monier-Williams gives mṛṇāla as the edible, fibrous root of certain lotuses and as the fibre on the stalk of a water-lily, and notes the feminine form mṛṇālī. In Sanskrit poetry the pale, slender lotus stalk is a stock image for a graceful arm. Mrunali is a Marathi girls' name of the same family as Mrunal and Mrunalini; the -ru- spelling is the Marathi way of writing the Sanskrit vowel ṛ, which Hindi speakers usually write Mrinali.
